Finance Fundamentals: Multinational Program

Finance Fundamentals is an online finance program for executives and managers from non-finance backgrounds who work in Australian subsidiaries of foreign-owned multinational organisations. In an environment where commercial pressures are compounded by complex group structures, cross-border reporting and regulatory obligations, financial fluency is an essential capability. The self-paced program develops financial fluency from first principles through to practical application: analysing financial statements; preparing local budgets for head office; appraising capital investments; managing treasury, foreign exchange and country risk; and understanding group reporting, transfer pricing and shared-services cost allocation. Designed by our CFO Advisory team, content is grounded in Australian regulatory requirements relevant to foreign-owned entities, including the Corporations Act, ASIC reporting requirements and ATO transfer pricing principles. It also addresses the practical implications of AASB, IFRS and US GAAP reporting differences, cash pooling, thin capitalisation and group reporting obligations. • Module 1 establishes the foundational language of finance and the Australian regulatory environment for foreign-owned entities. • Module 2 develops the ability to read and interrogate financial statements. • Module 3 covers the group planning and budgeting cycle, including how to build and defend a local budget to head office. • Module 4 addresses capital investment appraisal, risk management and treasury. • Module 5 connects performance management, governance and emerging themes to the participant’s own leadership role.
