About

Finance Fundamentals is a self-paced finance program designed for non-finance executives and managers leading Australian subsidiaries of foreign-owned multinationals — where standard commercial pressures are compounded by complex group structures, cross-border reporting and multi-jurisdictional regulatory obligations. The program builds financial literacy and decision-making confidence from first principles through to practical application. It covers strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting aligned to group requirements, AASB, IFRS and US GAAP reporting differences, foreign exchange and country risk, cash pooling, shared-services cost allocation, and transfer pricing and thin capitalisation concepts. By the end of the program, participants will be able to interpret financial statements, build and defend local budgets, appraise capital investment against group hurdle rates and navigate governance obligations. The content is grounded in the Corporations Act, ASIC reporting requirements and ATO transfer pricing rules, and includes worked examples and practical case studies.
