Overview

Finance Fundamentals is an online training program for executives and managers from non-financial backgrounds working with Australian private companies. Designed by our CFO Advisory team, it builds financial fluency from first principles through to practical application: interrogating financial statements and reporting; managing margins and working capital; appraising capital investment decisions; understanding governance and directors' obligations; and navigating funding options as the business grows. Content is grounded in Australian regulatory and accounting frameworks, including the Corporations Act, ASIC requirements, ATO obligations and Australian Accounting Standards. The self-paced program spans over 20 sessions across five modules, including key finance and accounting concepts, worked examples, case studies and emerging themes: ā–ø šŒšØšš®š„šž šŸ establishes the foundational language of finance and the Australian regulatory environment for private companies. ā–ø šŒšØšš®š„šž šŸ develops the ability to read and interrogate financial statements, cash flow and lender covenant metrics. ā–ø šŒšØšš®š„šž šŸ‘ covers budgeting and cash-flow scenario planning through to a board-approved plan. ā–ø šŒšØšš®š„šž šŸ’ addresses capital investment appraisal, risk management, supplier and trade-credit terms. ā–ø šŒšØšš®š„šž šŸ“ connects performance management, governance and growth funding options to the participant's own role.
